When MAZDA 3 launched in Spring 2003, it forced customers to rethink what was possible in a medium sized vehicle, as it offered excellent driving performance, emotional styling and high levels of craftsmanship unseen before in this price and medium size class. The revised new car model takes these attributes to a new level, offering improved torque characteristics for both engines, exterior styling enhancements and fit and finish and interior trim revisions.

Interior design

Particular detail was paid to revising the interior quality on all Mazda 3 models. The 2.0-liter 4-Door sedan features two interior colours: beige and black. The 2.3 L models with black interior and blackout type gauges include a decorative insert finished with a hairline treatment in the dash. Leather seating surfaces are available as an option for all sp models, and new for 2007 on select exterior colours is a grey cloth interior. Available in a number of trim levels including: Neo, Maxx, Maxx Sport and SP23.

Great all-round good looks and performance

Performance is just the beginning. The 2.0L engine in Neo, Maxx and Maxx Sport gains an electronic throttle and Sequential Valve Timing, for enhanced power, responsiveness and a better fuel economy. The 2.3L engine in the SP23 also benefits from an electronic throttle and is now mated to two new transmissions, either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed Activematic with paddle shift control for spirited driving and improved fuel economy
