Other variants include 3.0 and 4.9 litre turbo diesel versions along with the 3.6 litre V15 petrol version. This baby powers to 100kph in only 8.6 seconds with the help of 206kw of grunt. These three versions all come with six speed sports automatic transmissions.

All versions have stability and traction control, and the all-wheel-drive system is full-time. Unlike most soft-roaders with on-demand all-wheel-drive systems, the Touareg's full-time set-up incorporates a centre differential.
