This is the biggest Land Cruiser every, it is 60mm longer and 30mm wider, 15mm taller and even though the wheelbase remains the same, the front and rear tracks have been made wider by 20mm. There's even a lot more room inside the cabin. The interior length has gone up 130mm, while width has increased 20mm. So this new Land Cruiser is one big unit.

The Land Cruiser 200 features a newly developed six speed automatic transmission equipped with sequential shift lever operation for manual gear changing if required. It also features uphill/downhill shift control logic to minimise gear changes when driving on winding or hilly roads.

Available in the VX and Limited versions both models have the smart entry and start system which allows the vehicle to be locked and unlocked without the use of the key, as well as starting the engine with the press of a button.

The biggest improvement however is the adoption of a new-age system called Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) which is a standard item on the Limited and an option on the VX. The two main purposes of this system are to improve off-road performance by increasing wheel articulation, and to improve on-road driving by providing a more controlled ride and reducing body roll in corners.

Its a big beautiful SUV inside and out, with features that include an 8 inch touch screen which operates the air conditioning, audio system, satellite navigation system and bluetooth hands free mobile phone functionality. The screen can also act as the display for the reversing camera and DVD movie player.

To power all of this is the 4.5 litre, twin turbocharged V8, 32 valve DOHC diesel with Toyota's D-4D direct injection system. Power output has increased to 195kW and torque has doubled to 650Nm from just 1600rpm.

Towing capacity for the Land Cruiser 200 series is 3500kg braked and 750kg unbraked.
