The XK rides on 20-inch Sentra alloy wheels, and is powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine developing maximum power of 224kW and peak torque of 420Nm. The six-speed electronic automatic gearbox also has a sequential manual shift function operated using steering column mounted paddles. Jaguar says the XK will hit 100km/h in 6.2 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. The lightweight body offers a 10 percent improvement in power to weight ratio.

The convertibles roof can be raised or lowered electrically in fewer than 18 seconds, and can be operated at speeds up to 24km/h. It is stowed below a lightweight aluminium tonneau cover.
